Getting Started with Remio
Set up Remio in under 5 minutes. Follow these simple steps to start streaming your Mac to your iPhone or iPad.
Download Remio Host on your Mac
The Remio Host app runs on your Mac and shares your screen with your mobile device. Download it from our website or directly from the Mac App Store.
Open the downloaded .dmg file and drag Remio Host to your Applications folder. Then launch it from Launchpad or Spotlight.
Download Remio Client on your iPhone or iPad
Get the Remio Client app from the App Store on your iPhone or iPad. It's free to download and works with iOS 17 and later.
Search for "Remio" in the App Store, or use the direct link from our download page.
Grant Permissions
When you first launch Remio Host, macOS will ask you to grant two important permissions:
Screen Recording — Allows Remio to capture and stream your screen. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording and enable Remio Host.
Accessibility — Allows your mobile device to control your Mac (mouse movement, keyboard input, scrolling). Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and enable Remio Host.
Pair with PIN Code
Remio uses a secure PIN-based pairing system. Here's how it works:
On your Mac, Remio Host will display a 6-digit PIN code. Open the Remio Client app on your iPhone/iPad and enter this PIN to connect.
Once paired, your devices will remember each other — you won't need to enter the PIN again on future connections.
Connect and Enjoy!
That's it! Your Mac screen will appear on your iPhone or iPad in real-time. You can control everything — click, type, scroll, and even use multi-touch gestures.
Remio automatically uses peer-to-peer (P2P) for the lowest latency when both devices are on the same network. For remote access, it seamlessly switches to a secure relay.
